WEEK 13 IN SMK PERIMBUN

This week marks the completion of my 13th week at SMK Perimbun, and it has been a rather eventful one. Notably, I found myself engaged in multiple observation sessions, where I had the chance to showcase my teaching skills and commitment to the field of education.

On Tuesday, the 24th of October, my academic supervisor had the opportunity to observe my teaching. The experience was both challenging and rewarding. It allowed me to reflect on my teaching methods, ensuring I provide a productive and engaging learning environment for my students. I was thrilled to receive constructive feedback from my supervisor, which will undoubtedly help me grow as an educator.

The following day, I had yet another observation session, this time with one of my subject teachers. It was another valuable experience that allowed me to refine my teaching techniques. The subject teacher's feedback was particularly insightful, offering me a fresh perspective on my teaching approach. I was pleased to note that the observations went smoothly, reinforcing my confidence in my teaching abilities.

In addition to my regular teaching responsibilities, I dedicated my time to assisting a friend with the completion of 300 KmR certificates on Thursday and Friday. Collaborative efforts like these not only demonstrate teamwork but also allow us to achieve impressive outcomes. It was a satisfying experience, knowing that we successfully accomplished such a significant task.

Regarding my classes, I'm delighted to report that the teaching and learning processes continued to run smoothly and effectively, just as they have in previous weeks. The students remained engaged, and I continued to implement various teaching strategies to foster their academic growth and personal development.

Here I include my SWOT analysis:

WEEK 1 IN SMK PERIMBUN

On July 31, 2023, I and three of my fellow trainees reported to Perimbun National Secondary School (SMK Perimbun) at 7:30 in the morning. Our presence was warmly welcomed by the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Siti Noriza. After meeting with Mrs. Siti Noriza, we submitted the necessary documents required by the school. Subsequently, the school assigned us as teachers for the morning session. After completing the document formalities, we met with the Head of English Department, Mrs. Aidah. She assigned a mentor for each of us to assist throughout our practicum. I was paired with Mrs. Khairiyyah as my mentor. In my opinion, Mrs. Khairiyyah is a cheerful, helpful, and understanding teacher, which makes me comfortable to seek guidance from her. During this time, we were provided with our schedules. During the first week, we were also given tasks to relieve several classes. I found it quite challenging to locate the classrooms I was assigned to due to the school's vast size. However, I recei...

WEEK 4 IN SMK PERIMBUN

This week marks the fourth week of my presence in this school. Within this fourth week, it can be stated that there have been minimal changes due to the fact that the majority of the students are still engaged in examinations. For the form 3 class, I have successfully administered their speaking test during this week. However, in the current week, I have only one remaining period to continue my lessons for my form 3 students. Consequently, the instructional progress I was able to achieve for my form 3 students this week was limited to a rather straightforward lesson. The subject matter revolved around vocabulary associated with the fourth unit, namely "Special Relationship." The lesson comprised a basic activity where students were required to comprehend the meanings of each vocabulary term, followed by providing suitable examples using the names of their friends. In my assessment, this was the extent of what I could share pertaining to my lesson this week. Nonetheless, a...

WEEK 8 IN SMK PERIMBUN

This week marks my eighth week at SMK Perimbun. As for this week, there isn't much to share as my routine remains quite consistent. I've been conducting teaching and learning sessions for both classes as usual. However, this week brought a slight twist as we had to attend school on Saturday due to a makeup day for a public holiday, which was postponed because of the elections. On this makeup school day, the school organized a Community Service Day, known as "Program Gotong Royong Madani," and various activities under the guidance of the Counseling Unit. I, along with my fellow practicum partners, were assigned to participate in the "Program Gotong Royong Madani." Throughout the program, everything went smoothly, and it turned out to be a rewarding experience. During the Community Service Day, our school came together to contribute to the betterment of our immediate surroundings and community. We engaged in a variety of activities aimed at fostering a sense ...
