This week marks the fourth week of my presence in this school. Within this fourth week, it can be stated that there have been minimal changes due to the fact that the majority of the students are still engaged in examinations. For the form 3 class, I have successfully administered their speaking test during this week. However, in the current week, I have only one remaining period to continue my lessons for my form 3 students. Consequently, the instructional progress I was able to achieve for my form 3 students this week was limited to a rather straightforward lesson. The subject matter revolved around vocabulary associated with the fourth unit, namely "Special Relationship." The lesson comprised a basic activity where students were required to comprehend the meanings of each vocabulary term, followed by providing suitable examples using the names of their friends. In my assessment, this was the extent of what I could share pertaining to my lesson this week.
Nonetheless, an important event occurred on Friday, the 25th
of August, wherein the school organized a Pre-Independence Ceremony in
anticipation of the upcoming Independence Day. For this event, the history
committee requested that practicum teachers recite a poem, and thus, our
contingent of English practicum teachers willingly consented to deliver this performance.
On the day of the event, it is acknowledged that I experienced a degree of
nervousness, leading to a minor lapse in memory. Nevertheless, we managed to
successfully conclude our performance. While our performance might not have
been of the highest caliber, we received an overwhelmingly positive response
from both the teaching staff and the students.
In reflection, the week's experiences have reaffirmed my growing enthusiasm for being a part of this school community, particularly due to the nurturing environment provided by the faculty. Their willingness to afford us space, opportunities, encouragement, and trust to showcase our abilities in this educational setting has been truly commendable.
Following that, I provided my SWOT analysis for the week
