WEEK 5 AS AN ENGLISH TEACHER IN SMK PERIMBUN

This week marks my fifth week as a practicum teacher. During this week, there isn't much to share as it is a school holiday week. Throughout the school holiday, my main activities have been preparing lesson plans for the upcoming school week. Additionally, I have also been diligently creating worksheets for each lesson and gathering teaching materials for my future classes. Below, I have included some of the teaching materials that I have prepared for my upcoming classes.




Furthermore, the upcoming school week will focus on the English language (English Week, 4th-8th September ). This means that several English-related activities will take place throughout the week. One of the highlighted activities for the week is the "English Carnival Exploration," which involves an exploratory race game. This race game has been meticulously organized and coordinated by us, the English practicum teachers. It includes a variety of engaging activities designed to immerse students in the English language. I will share more details about this exploration race in my next entry.

For this week, I have also designed a poster for the exploration race, which I have included below. Isn't it adorable and captivating?

As for this week's SWOT analysis, I think it is going to be the same as the previous week since I haven't been in school yet due to school holiday. However, I will still include the SWOT analysis in this entry even it's just the same thing. Here is the SWOT analysis:

  This week marks the fourth week of my presence in this school. Within this fourth week, it can be stated that there have been minimal changes due to the fact that the majority of the students are still engaged in examinations. For the form 3 class, I have successfully administered their speaking test during this week. However, in the current week, I have only one remaining period to continue my lessons for my form 3 students. WEEK 1 IN SMK PERIMBUN

 On July 31, 2023, I and three of my fellow trainees reported to Perimbun National Secondary School (SMK Perimbun) at 7:30 in the morning. Our presence was warmly welcomed by the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Siti Noriza. After meeting with Mrs. Siti Noriza, we submitted the necessary documents required by the school. Subsequently, the school assigned us as teachers for the morning session. After completing the document formalities, we met with the Head of English Department, Mrs. Aidah. She assigned a mentor for each of us to assist throughout our practicum. I was paired with Mrs. Khairiyyah as my mentor. In my opinion, Mrs. Khairiyyah is a cheerful, helpful, and understanding teacher, which makes me comfortable to seek guidance from her. During this time, we were provided with our schedules. WEEK 9 IN SMK PERIMBUN

This week marks my ninth week at SMK Perimbun. As per usual, my instructional and learning sessions have continued in their regular fashion. However, what sets this week apart is the introduction of technology into my teaching approach. I have incorporated tools such as a projector to enhance the visual aspects of my lessons. Moreover, I've begun to integrate interactive activities within my classroom, utilizing platforms like Plickers. This innovative shift in my teaching methodology has not only made the learning experience more engaging but has also enriched the overall educational environment. Students now have the opportunity to interact with the subject matter in a more dynamic way, thanks to the utilization of multimedia resources like the projector. This visual aid not only makes complex concepts more accessible but also fosters a deeper understanding of the material.
