This week marks my seventh week at this school. During this week, there isn't much to share as I have been teaching and providing relief just as usual. However, on Monday (September 11th), we were tasked with organizing an awards presentation session for students involved in language week activities from the previous week. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from that day as we were quite busy at the time.
Additionally, this week featured a program held on Wednesday (September 13th) during co-curricular hours, known as the "Perimbun Has Talent" program. This program allows students to showcase their talents, including singing, acting, magic tricks, dancing, playing musical instruments, and more. The program ran from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. It's undeniable that this program was quite captivating, as we got to witness the various talents our students possess.
As for my teaching sessions this week, I still feel confident in managing the students in Form 3. I've begun incorporating technology like projectors to make the lessons more engaging for the students. I've also started implementing a reward system for certain class activities.
However, I continue to face the same challenge of not being able to spark the interest of Form 4 students in the English subject. From my observations, the majority of Form 3 students have a genuine liking for English and consistently try to communicate with me in the language. On the contrary, I can see that Form 4 students are not as enthusiastic about learning English. Only a few of them show interest. Despite providing engaging activities, their responses remain lackluster. I've also noticed that Form 4 students are not very inclined towards group work, possibly due to conflicts within the group.
Nevertheless, these challenges do not deter me from seeking the best ways to capture their attention. I will strive to discover the learning methods they prefer so that I can attempt to apply them in our classroom sessions.
Before I forget, this week, I received an appreciation certificate for my involvement in the appreciation day event. Not only that, but I was also gifted a mug with my name on it by Ms. Aidah, the school's GKMP, as a token of appreciation for our efforts during language week. Finally, I received a copy of the Quran as a gift from one of my students.
Below, I have included some pictures that I can share for this week.
I believe that's all I can share regarding this week. Below is my SWOT analysis for this week:
